I’ve always liked bears. They have tons of personality and a no f’s given kind of attitude about the world. How can they be mysterious, wise, goofy, awkward, calm and fierce all at the same time?

The bear, for me, has always symbolized a protector, a guide and a place of comfort. Bears have been a frequent dream animal throughout my life. Some positive symbolic associations of the bear include: strength, confidence, courage, healing, solitude, introspection, and grounding. What is the bear to you?

A picture of the artist's own stuffed bear. A well-loved brown teddy bear with a red bow tie and yellow knitted sweater.

This is my friend of nearly 40 years. Do you have a bear friend? Maybe you have a different animal friend that has accompanied you throughout your life?
